PROCESS OR SYNCHRONOUS IMAGE SCANNER CONTROLLING METHOD

Series of clock pulses applied to a shift register, e.g. a CCD in a sensor unit of an image scanner, are initiated by read signals from a processor which receives the shift register contents. The application of the clock pulse series to the shift register is started by connecting a gate, receiving clock pulses of an oscillator, and by the read signals. The transfer of sense data of the next scanning line from a photosensor to the shift register is stopped when the processor is interrupted for another operation.
