The tool magazine for machine tools comprises a tool carrier (10) having a row of tool engaging recesses. It is pivotally mounted on a workpiece table (6). The carrier is pivotally mounted at one end of a rotating arm (8). The other end of the arm is pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis (9) on the table. In its rest position the carrier is preferably located in a closable box (17).
