PURPOSE:A feed additive composition, prepared by coating a biologically active substance with a protecting material containing chitosan, capable of protecting the biologically active substance from microorganisms in the rumen, and making the substance absorbable by the digestive organs of the abomasum or thereafter. CONSTITUTION:A feed additive composition prepared by coating 100pts.wt. biologically active substance, e.g. an amino acid, vitamin or enzyme, with 50- 500pts.wt. film of a protecting material, consisting of one or two or more selected from the group consisting of 14-22C straight chain or branched chain saturated or unsaturated monocarboxylic acids, hardened vegetable fat and hardened animal fat and 0.1-90wt%, based on the protecting material, chitosan. |
