The invention relates to an apparatus for producing mouldings from thermoplastic granules (pellets), comprising a multipart mould, a pressing device and a heating device located outside the mould in the form of a cage which can be flushed with hot air or steam and the granule content of which can be pushed out by means of a ram. The object of the invention is to provide a possible way of introducing the granules very quickly into the mould once they have begun to melt and of carrying out the pressing operation immediately thereafter. The invention consists in that the cage is arranged immediately next to the mould and that the ram is part of the mould.
