PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent recording device enabling high-speed recording against low noises and having high durability by sensing the position of the angle of rotation of a rotor for a stepping motor and closed-loop controlling the drive of the stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:A motor-speed control circuit 23 compares the interval time of the output pulses of an encoder 25 with the reference time, and adjusts the magnitude of the exciting currents or magnitude of voltage of a carriage drive motor 1 so that the time difference is reduced in response to the result of the comparison. A microprocessor unit 20 indicates the rotational speed of the carriage drive motor 1, selects the reference time for comparison in response to the rotational speed, and controls the rotational speed of the carriage drive motor 1 at a specified high-speed mode or a specified low-speed mode. Accordingly, the closed-loop control of the stepping motor 1 capable of realizing quiet high torque and high response can be conducted positively, thus acquiring a safe recording device having high reliability. |
