<p>Charge-discharge circuit for the capacitor of a cardiac defibrillator. Circuit characterised in that the discharge circuit comprises, in addition to the capacitor C, at least one discharger E connected in series with the capacitor C, which discharger is optically coupled to an optoelectronic element connected to an input (5) for the resetting to zero RAZ of a control and inhibiting circuit CCI intended to halt the operation of the charge circuit (2) in order to prevent any automatic recharging of the capacitor C after a first discharge.
