PURPOSE:To certainly judge the clogging of filter paper by particles or the closure of sampling piping by comparing one of or both of the measured values of a flowmeter and a pressure gauge with a preset value. CONSTITUTION:When a suction pump 10 is driven by the pump control part of a dust radiation monitor apparatus, air containing dust passes through the filter paper 4 of a dust collection part 2 from a sampling gas inlet (a) and further passes through a flow control valve 8 and a flowmeter 9 to be discharged from a sampling gas outlet (b) by the suction pump 10. The pump control part 21 takes in the measured flow rate from the flowmeter 9 continuously or at a cycle faster than a filter paper replacing cycle to compare the same with the set flow rate of a flow rate setting part 22. When the measured flow rate is smaller than the set flow rate, an abnormal signal is sent out to set unused filter paper 4 to the dust collection part 2 and, thereafter, a cause is judged while the state of the measured flow rate is observed. By this method, the clopping of filter paper can be certainly judged from the closure of sampling piping.
