The end portion (P) is bonded to the reel (R) by boring a hole (11) in the end portion, attaching tape (12) to the outer surface in the area of the hole (11) and pressing the tape (12) inwardly so that it extends through the hole (11) and is bonded to the outer surface of the material beneath the hole (11).
