Limnus amebocyte lysate G-factor activation inhibitor consists of a polyglycoside containing at least one poly-(1 to 3)-beta-D-glucoside moiety having 2-370 consecutive (1 to 3)-beta-D-glucoside units (pref. 3-3100 units and esp. 4-180 units). The polyglycoside is pref. one of the following: Laminaria oligosaccharide of m.wt. 342-1638; Laminaria dextrin of m.wt. 3,000-23,000; sclerotan of m.wt. 3,000-20,000; schizophyllan of m.wt. below 500,000; lentinan of m.wt. below 1,100,000; Saccharomyces glucan of m.wt. below 200,000; lithienan of m.wt. below 33,000; barley beta-glucan of m.wt. below 200,000, carboxymethylated (1 to 3)-beta-D-glucan (deg. of substn. 0.003-1.0) or its salts, of m.wt. 40,000-240,000; carboxymethylated laminaran (deg. of substn. below 1.0) or its salts, of m.wt. below 23,000; methylated (1 to 3)-beta-D-glucan (deg. of substn. 0.003-1.0) of m.wt. below 80,000; or sulphated laminaran (deg. of substn. below 1.0) or its salts, of m.wt. below 23,000. |
