The screw guide is for the tool spindle of a gear planing machine, for the manufacture of straight and helical gears. The main spindle of the machine can be moved axially to and fro and can be rotated. An external gear master profile, with a first external screw thread, is mounted on the main spindle. A first female master profile, which is mounted around the external master profile, has a first helical groove in its internal surface with which the thread of the external gear engages. The machine has a second female master profile which is mounted around the first one and which has a second helical groove which engages with a screw thread on the first female master profile. |
