The cooking plate has a frame (2,3) supporting a burner unit and a grid (7) or a solid stone surface (6) above the latter. The grid (7) or the stove surface (6) and the peripheral frame (4) enclosing it are pref. rectangular, with a support loops attached to the peripheral frame (4) to project above the grid (7) or the stove surface (6) for supporting skewered food. The frame (4) may be folded down from its working position into a horizontal position, to act as a handle for the cooking plate. ADVANTAGE - Allows direct cooking of food at the table.
