PURPOSE:To provide the subject inexpensive fibers having rich chemical resistance and high strength by spinning a copolymerized fluororesin containing tetrafluoroethylene and any other thermoplastic resin into a conjugate fiber, subjecting the prepared fiber to a drawing process, etc., and subsequently removing the other polymer from the fiber or dividing the fiber. CONSTITUTION:A copolymerized fluororesin containing at least tetrafluoroethylene (preferably tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroethylene copolymer, tetrafluoroethylene-hexafluoropropylene copolymer or tetrafluoroethylene-ethylene copolymer) and any other thermoplastic resin are spun preferably in the presence of a spinning cylinder heated to a temperature of >=150 deg.C below a spinneret into a conjugate fiber, followed by drawing the prepared fiber into a length of two times or more, or spun at a high speed of >=500m/min, followed by removing the other polymer and/or dividing the fiber to provide the objective fibers each having a fineness of <=1 denier and a strength of >=1g/d. |
