PURPOSE:To prevent heat accumulation in a recording head even when black continues by controlling conduction energy to a heating element so that specific relationship holds in conduction energy to the heating element at a time when all picture signals within a specified range represent heat-generating signals and conduction energy at a time when one of picture signals at an adjacent position represents a non-heat- generating signal. CONSTITUTION:Conduction energy is set so that the relationship of 1.7XE0<=E1<=5.0XE0 holds when conduction energy at a time when all dots within the range of detection are black to dots to be conducted is represented by E0 and conduction energy at a time when one of adjacent dots in the main scanning direction or the sub-scanning direction is white is represented by E1. It is because there is no difference in the calorific values of an edge section and a solid black section when energy E1 is made lower than 1.7XE0 and the solid black section is overheated and ink excessively permeates to a recording medium when a calorific value where the edge section is exposed distinctly is generated. In it because the difference of the calorific values of the edge section and the solid black section is increased when conduction energy E1 is made larger than 5.0XE0 and sufficient transfer is not enabled owing to insufficient energy in the solid black section when the calorific value where the edge section is exposed clearly is generated. |
