PURPOSE:To obtain the phase difference film which is wide in visual angle by decreasing an inter-clamp spacing to relieve a polycarbonate film in the final stage of the uniaxial stretching of the film. CONSTITUTION:Not only the polycarbonate film is used and is merely uniaxially stretched, but also the film is allowed to shrink slightly by relieving the force exerted to the film for the purpose of stretching prior to cooling and fixing in the end of the stretching stage. The phase difference film which is lower in the degree of orientation of the molecules in the plane inclusive of the optical axis and orthogonal with the film plane than in the film plane is, therefore, obtd. The phase difference film with which the visual angle can be widened is obtd. in this way. |
