The invention relates to a cover box of telescopic covers of machine-tool slideways, having a wiper device with a wiper strip resting on the top wall of the next smaller box. The object of the invention is to create a cover box with a wiper device which is of simple design, and the attaching and exchange of the wiper strip on the cover box can be effected in a time-saving and labour-saving manner. To this end, provision is made for the box top wall (1) to have a row (R) of holes parallel to its edge (9), for the wiper strip (4) to be provided with correspondingly arranged lugs (8), projections or suchlike connecting means (13), and for the wiper strip to be directly connected unsupported to the underside (3) of the top wall (1). <IMAGE>
