PURPOSE:To prevent the retention and a drift current of blood and further to reduce the pressure drop by specifying the connecting warp density of a hollow-yarn bundle, hollow-yarn bundle density, number of laminated hollow-yarn sheets, and hollow-yarn sheet thickness. CONSTITUTION:The inlet 7 and outlet 6 for a first fluid (e.g., blood) are allowed to communicate with the space formed by a hollow yarn 3 and a housing 1, and the inlet 11 and outlet 12 for a second fluid (e.g., gas) are allowed to communicate with the inside of the hollow yarn 3. The outer diameter of one hollow yarn 3 or the bundle of plural hollow yarns is denoted by D (mu), the density of the warps 4 connecting one hollow yarn or the bundle of plural hollow yarns by W (warps/cm), the density of the bundle of one or plural hollow yarns per unit length of a hollow-yarn sheet by F (bundles/cm), the number of laminated hollow-yarn sheets per unit length by l (sheets/cm), and the thickness of the hollow yarn sheet in the flow direction of the fluid outside the hollow yarn by T (cm). In this case, 0.2<=W<=4.0, 0.5<=T<=12.0, and 18<8>/(3.0XD)<2=FXI<10<8>/(0.93XD)<2> must be fulfilled.
