PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber having high and persistent antibacterial activity, moth-proofing activity, etc., by treating a fiber having a specific boiling water shrinkage with a treating agent containing diethyl toluamide. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber can be produced by immersing (A) a polyethylene terephthalate fiber having a boiling water shrinkage or >=2.5% in (B) an aqueous solution of N,N-diethyl-m-toluamide and, as necessary, heating the treated fiber preferably at 40-140 deg.C. |
