PURPOSE:To prepare a bagged and frozen unseasoned blue mussel by removing hairs from a high-quality blue mussel, packing the treated mussel in a heat- resistant and gastight synthetic resin bag and subjecting to evacuation, sealing, heating, cooling and storage in frozen state. CONSTITUTION:Blue mussels are classified by size, large foreign materials attached to the shell are removed, the shell is washed, the hairs of the shell are removed and defective shells are rejected. A definite quantity of the treated high-quality blue mussels are packed in a heat-resistant and gastight synthetic resin bag, evacuated, sealed and then heated in the bag. The bagged and heated shell is cooled and stored in frozen state to obtain the objective food. The bagged and frozen food is easily cookable without pretreatment after opening the bag and seasonable to any taste since the shell is bagged in unseasoned state. The shell is stored in unopened state since it is heated in evacuated state and, accordingly, it is suitable also as a cooking utilizing the mussel shell. |
