PURPOSE:To obtain a high-picture-quality television which can be used for a video telephone by equipping a video telephone function, which displays a still picture based on picture data successively stored in a memory means on a screen. CONSTITUTION:The still picture to be transmitted to the opponent side and the picture data of the received still picture are stored into a double speed frame memory 4. In addition, the picture data of the plural still pictures are stored into the double speed frame memory 4, and they can be updated. In such a way, when the picture data are stored into the double speed frame memory 4, their still pictures are displayed on the large screen of a high-picture- quality television 1, in addition, plural still pictures are displayed on one screen at once or continuously, and further, they can be updated. Thus, the high-picture- quality television which can be used for the video telephone is obtained. |
