PURPOSE:To highly speedily process a picture with the minimum calculating quantity without receiving the influence of illuminating conditions by obtaining the degree of noncoincidence using an Hadamard coefficient at the maximum side except the DC component of the picture. CONSTITUTION:When an Hadamard conversion 14 is executed for an object picture in a frame memory 12 using a feature template, the Hadamard coefficient for the same frequency component of a block corresponding to the feature template is obtained, the obtained coefficient is made into feature quantity for respective blocks, and the arithmetic result is stored in a memory 16. Next, the degree of the noncoincidence obtained by adding the respective absolute values of the respective differences between the feature quantities of the respective blocks of a template picture and the feature quantities of the respective blocks in the object picture for all the blocks is obtained by an operation 18. The degrees of the noncoincidence are compared 20 with a prescribed value, the minimum degree of the noncoincidence is stored in a memory 22, and the address is stored in a memory 24. A picture moving means 25 reads the next area from the memory 12, and the same operation is repeated. As this result, the address, for which the noncoincidence becomes the minimum value for all the picture areas, can be obtained from the memory 24. |
