PURPOSE:To obtain an image record with uniform surface and high gloss while the surface of said image is protected by a resin film by forming an ink image on an ink receiving layer by blowing ink to the surface of a recording medium, heating to melt a thermally-melting type resin layer and forming a protective coat of a resin film. CONSTITUTION:A recording medium 11 is formed an ink receiving layer 2 on a support body 1 and a thermally-melting type resin layer 3 of fine particles thereon. The recording medium 11 is transferred under a recording head 18 and at the same time a recording data is inputted to a controller 20. The recording head is driven by a driver 19. In accordance with the input data, particles 21 of a dye precursor liquid are blown to the surface of the recording medium 11. The dye precursor liquid particles 21 pass through fine particles of the resin layer 3 to reach the ink receiving layer 2. The particles 21 react with a developing agent in the layer 2 thereby to develop a color. The recording medium having an image recorded thereon in the above manner is cut into a predetermined length and heated by a heater 17. Accordingly, the thermally- melting type resin in the layer 2 is softened and melted thereby to form a film. |
