[Also in Group V] A moulded plastics container body, Fig. 3, has a peripheral wall which is thicker at one side i of the bodv than the other side t and which gradually reduces in thickness towards the thinner side. The container may be formed with longitudinally extending ribs 20, each rib being continuous or being divided into two parts which may be staggered relatively to each other around the container. The cross sectional area of the walls w, Fig. 4, between the bends 20, are of the order 1¢-3¢ times the cross sectional area of the beads b. A perforated metal ring 23, which is placed between the base 22 and the flange 12, is inductively heated to fuse the base to the container. The body is formed by a mould having a core member displaced to one side. The container may be used as an aerosol and under excessive pressure the thin walled portion i bulges outwards and limits any subsequent bursting area to said bulge. A neck 13 formed on the container embraces a plug 16 and dip tube 19 as shown in Fig. 3, the tube 19 being closed by a button operated valve 17. |
