PURPOSE:To obtain a formed coke resistant to cracking and excellent in strength by a stabilized operation by operating a shaft kiln-type internal heating carbonization oven under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:A shaft kiln-type internal heating carbonization oven for producing a formed coke by directly heating a coal briquette with a gas is operated by regulating the flow rate of a carbonization gas, the amount of the coal briquette and the carbonization gas temperature so that the ratio (Vg/Vs) of the flow rate (Vg) of the dry carbonization gas to the amount (Vs) of the coal briquette may fall within a range of 1000-4000 and the carbonization gas temperature (Tg) may fall within the range represented by formulas I-III. |
