PURPOSE:To make possible the realization of high-density record packing by which stable ejection of flying ink droplets can be constantly ensured by providing a slit nozzle plate with table-like slit nozzle holes for stable ejection of recording ink in a fixed direction, arranged, in parallel and opposed to each other, on a thermal element array, and an ink reservior and an auxiliary meniscus array formed near the slit nozzle holes. CONSTITUTION:An ink reservoir 201, slit-like nozzle holes 202 and auxiliary holes 203 are arranged on a nozzle plate. The auxiliary holes 203 accelerate the restoration of a meniscus to a normal state in the slit-like nozzle holes 202 and also reduce the unnecessary oscillation of a meniscus surface at an early time. In addition, the auxiliary holes of circular protruding shape with a diameter of l4 and height of l3 are formed in parallel at a distance of l14 from the slit nozzle holes 202 and at an alignment interval of L13. A thermal element array 205 and a wall array 206 are arranged on a substrate arranged against a nozzle plate through a spacer 207. On the thermal element array 205, electrodes 208 and a protection layer 209 are formed in the thickness of l8 and l7 respectively. |
