PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester composition providing fibers, films and sheets having excellent durability and hydrophilic nature such as antistatic properties, sweat absorbing properties and stain resistance by blending an aromatic polyester with a latently water-soluble polyoxyethylene-based compound. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100 pts.wt. aromatic polyester (preferably polyethylene terephthalate or polybutylene terephthalate) is blended with (B) 0.2-30 pts.wt. polyoxyethylene-based compound which is water-soluble by itself but becomes water-insoluble by proper treatment, preferably compound (e.g., compound shown by formula II) shown by formula I [R<1> is mainly ethylene group: R<2> is 4-20 deg.C bifunctional aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group; m+n are 20-500; a is 0 or 1; A<1> is (meth)acryloyl or allyl; A<2> is H, 6-40C aryl, etc.], optionally an organic or inorganic ionic compound, antioxidant, etc. |
