PURPOSE:To enlarge a screen occupancy rate, and also, to easily mount a backlight by providing an FPC loaded with a driving circuit part of a TFT-LCD cell on a plane vertical to the cell, and also, so as to surround the cell. CONSTITUTION:A tape automated bonding (TAB) 1 is connected to a thin film transistor (TFT) - liquid crystal display (LCD) panel 13, the TAB 1 is bent to an angle of about 90 deg. in the end part of the panel 13, and flexible printing circuit (FPC) 23 is attached to the side of a case 24 and the side face of a reinforcing plate 28. In the end, a connecting terminal T1 of the TAB 1 and a connecting terminal of the FPC 23 are connected electrically and mechanically. A display part 12 is driven by the TAB 1 which is connected through a terminal to the peripheral part of an LC panel 11. Accordingly, the FPC 23 secures enough a space for installing a backlight use fluorescent tube 26, a size of the whole liquid crystal display device is made small, and the mounting density can be raised. In such a way, the backlight can be mounted easily, a TFT-LCD cell having a high screen occupancy rate can be mounted. |
