PURPOSE:To obtain thick foam having high expansion ratio in obtaining flame- retardant crosslinked polyethylene foam by adding a blowing agent, crosslinking agent and flame-retardant to polyethylene and expanding under heating, by using a specific flame-retardant and a specific crosslinking auxiliary in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. polyethylene is blended with 2-10pts.wt. ethylenebistetrabromophthalimide, 1-8pts.wt. pentabromotoluene and 5-15pts.wt. chlorinated paraffin as a flame-retardant, 2-10pts.wt. antimony trioxide as a crosslinking auxiliary, further a crosslinking agent (preferably dicumyl peroxide), a blowing agent (preferably azodicarbonamide) and optionally a blowing auxiliary, lubricant, etc., and expanded under heating by two-stage expanding method of heating under pressure followed by heating under normal pressure to give flame-retardant crosslinked polyethylene foam. |
