An installation for continuous casting of cast iron pipes has a bottom supply to the moulding arrangement comprising a cooling die and a heating core for the purpose of the vertical botton casting of a cast iron pipes. The installation comprises an electrical furnace containing liquid cast iron, a cover for closing the furnace and on the cover an arrangement for graphite blocks immersed in the liquid cast iron of the furnace and containing in addition to the bottom supply device and the moulding arrangement an expansion vessel for supplying liquid cast iron at a variable level to the cavity of the hollow core of the moulding arrangement.
