The invention relates to a method of selectively directing electromagnetic radiation onto a given part of an object, e.g. a printed circuit board. This method has been applicable to date only for 2-dimensional objects, in particular printed circuit boards. In order to be able in addition to process objects with a three-dimensional surface, e.g. injection-moulded printed circuit boards, using this method, the invention provides that the electromagnetic radiation is emitted into a tool in the form of a body made of material that is essentially transparent to the electromagnetic radiation, the surface of the body being varied over a first region, arranged adjacent to the said part of the object, by comparison with an adjacent, second region of the body surface, the electromagnetic radiation emitted into the body being selectively emitted from the first region and impinging at said part onto the object. <IMAGE> |
