PURPOSE:To obtain surface-coated AlN powder having improved heat resistance) mechanical strength, and durability of the coated film and permitting its treatment in an aq. system by using a polyamide resin as a surface-coating material for AlN particles coated for the purpose of stabilizing the particles. CONSTITUTION:The title AlN powder is constituted of particles having the surface coated with a polyamide resin. The powder is produced by kneading AlN powder with a nonaqueous solvent such as acetone, etc., kneading further after adding an agent such as coupling agent for imparting hydrophobic characteristic to the powder, drying the product, and pulverizing if necessary. Coating film of a polyamide resin is formed on the surface of the particles by the interfacial polymn. The method is not restricted particularly, but, for example, the AlN powder having been treated with a coupling agent to acquire hydrophobic characteristic are dispersed in a soln. of a dibasic acid or its deriv. A diamine or a diamine deriv. is added to the dispersion and a polymn. reaction is caused on the surface of the AlN powder particles. |
