For improvement purposes in the case of a pipe-connecting member having a receiving body, in which at least one pipe can be arranged by an end region and part of the connecting member is produced from memory metal, it is proposed that there be provided, between the pipe and the receiving body, a ring which consists of memory metal and is intended for pressing and sealing purposes, the ring being designed such that, in a first temperature range, it can be pushed in between the receiving body and the pipe, whereas, in a second temperature range beyond the critical temperature, it presses the pipe in the pushed-in position in the receiving body.
