A coated metal pipe has a zinc plate sub-layer on the surface, a fluorine resin interlayer applied on the sub-layer via a chromate film and a topcoat layer of a resinous tube of a gelled film derived from a vinyl chloride resin or of a heat shrinking vinyl chloride, polyolefin or fluorine resin via an adhesive layer, and a method for manufacturing such a coated metal pipe.
