The process entails milling the material to be investigated using a cutter-homogeniser to a defined particle size, tabletting the milled material under defined pressure, introducing the tabletted sample into a high-resolution X-ray spectrometer, irradiating the sample with X-rays, measuring the sulphur K alpha fluorescence, calculating the sulphur content of the sample from the intensity of the sulphur K alpha rays, and determining the total glucosinolate content from the calculated sulphur content. |
