PURPOSE:To obtain a beautiful acrylic decorative material by a method wherein after uniform mixing of coarse crushed pieces of a transparent acrylic molded product of a thermoforming material or thermoforming colorless acrylic pellets or beads with coarse crushed pieces of a colored casting acrylic material, the same is either compression-molded or extrusion-molded at a heating temperature of not exceeding the melting or decomposition temperature. CONSTITUTION:Coarse crushed pieces (colored coarse crushed pieces) of a colored casting acrylic material is obtained through inferior goods of a sheet or the other molded product consisting mainly of the colored casting arylic material. Crushed pieces of a molding material series transparent acrylic molded product or its resinous pellets or beads (combined resin) are of a low-molecular-weight thermoplastic acrylic resin which is used as a binding material or a embedding material of the colored coarse crushed pieces. Then a decorative material is manufactured by a method wherein the colored coarse crushed pieces and combined resin are mixed up with each other appropriately and uniformly, put into a mold, pressed by a press while heating or the mixture is extruded into a platelike or barlike state through an arbitrary die by an extruding machine. In the case where the title method is based on a compression method, a temperature of about 190-200 deg.C is selected as a molding temperature. Then in the case where the title method is based on an extruding method, a material to be extruded is heated at the vicinity of 180 deg.C of the melting temperature of the combined resin. |
