The present invention relates to a clutch mechanism including tangential tongues 23 fixed by fixing members 40 onto a pressure plate 14, a cover 10 having openings 47 for mounting the fixing members 40, one of which fixes a component 50 for limiting the stroke of the pressure plate. According to the invention, the limiting component 50 consists of a small plate including a fin 51 which is transverse overall for contact with the drive tongue 23 concerned, traversed by the fixing member 40, and a fin 52 which is axial overall carrying at least one arm 53 capable of interacting with the edge of the opening 47 of the cover, the said axial fin 52 extending radially further inwards than the continuous part 42 of the fixing member 40.
