PURPOSE:To obtain a reduced picture at a high speed in a form preserving thin line information by detecting whether or not an object is an interleave object based on an interleaved data, a split area, a density data of picture element to be converted and a divided area so as to calculate the density of the conversion picture element. CONSTITUTION:A division area designation means 2 designates to which division area set on a plane of a picture element to be converted the conversion picture element is located and a density data of a picture element group to be converted is inputted sequentially by a converted picture element input means 1. An interleave data generating means 3 generates an interleaved data required to detect whether or not the picture element to be converted is an interleave object picture element based on the division area and the reduction rate. A split area decision means 4 based on the reduction rate discriminates to which split area the conversion picture element at present time is located. Then a conversion picture element density calculation means 6 calculates the density of the conversion picture element based on the interleave data, the split area to which a decided conversion picture element is located and the density data of the converted picture element group. Thus, a reduced picture is obtained without erasing thin lines. |
