Light system (and device) for projecting a rainbow whose light source is the sun. The invention relates to the decorative use of light. The system uses a transparent circular deviating prism A in the shape of a half cone that converges the rays of the sun into a transparent divergent prism E positioned in the beam's path, by which means a solar spectrum is projected in a large broad semicircle or rainbow L of vivid colours that can be thrown up onto the desired area by means of a mirror G. The invention is chiefly used to create novel decorative indoor or outdoor effects, in advertising photography or art photography, for outdoor scenic decorations, e.g. for podiums, or as a support for an advertisement. <IMAGE>
