<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a damage to a magnetic tape due to friction by restricting an oscillation idler in the neutral state in which the idler is not engaged with any reel base in the loading process of a reel chassis and releasing the said restriction at the end of loading. CONSTITUTION:A restriction plate 160 enters the oscillating region of the oscillation idler 110 during the loading of the reel chassis 2 and the oscillation idler 110 is pressed into contact with a restriction plate 160 by driving a capstan motor 13 in one direction to restrict the oscillation idler 110 in the neutral position. After the loading of the reel chassis 2 is finished, in the process of the operation of a pinch roller compression mechanism 8, the restriction plate 16 is driven in a direction parted from the oscillation idler 110 by the restriction plate drive mechanism, resulting that the oscillating motion of the idler 110 is attained in both directions. Thus, a damage to a magnetic tape due to the friction with the head cylinder during the loading of the reel chassis 2 is avoided.</p> |
