Improved intermediate torsion ring used in a piston ring assembly for controlling oil in four parts for internal- combustion engines which has two rails 2, 2, an expansion spring 5 and an intermediate torsion ring 3 which has conical peripheral surfaces 9 or surfaces 14 of the napier type which form grooves 8 in the upper 10 and/or lower 11 lateral faces which provide drainage of the oil towards the casing. The intermediate torsion ring 3 controls the consumption of oil by means of its peripheral surfaces 9 which are conical or of the napier type 14 and ensure the lateral sealing of the rails 2, 2 against the groove 4 of the piston 6 by means of twisting, thereby improving oil consumption. <IMAGE>
