PURPOSE:To rapidly provide air composition in a space suitable for preserving vegetables by vertically moving an air-impermeable or slightly permeable flexible sheet interlocking with opening and closing of a door and reducing the volume of the space for preserving vegetables in covering and preserving the vegetables. CONSTITUTION:A vegetable preserving container 3 is connected through a guide 17 to an air-impermeable or slightly permeable flexible sheet 2 forming a closed space with the vegetable preserving container 3 when a door 1 is closed and the back of the vegetable preserving container 3 to lift or lower the sheet 2 interlocking with the opening or closing of the door 1. Thereby, when the vegetable preserving container 3 is opened, the sheet 2 is lifted interlocking with the opening to prevent damage of the vegetables due to mutual rubbing of the sheet 2 with the vegetables or catching of the sheet 2 with the vegetable container 3. When the container 3 is closed, the vegetables are covered with the sheet 2 by its own weight. As a result, the volume of the closed space formed by the sheet 2 and the vegetable preserving container 3 can be reduced.
