Machine which can be used to separate said materials from one another, said materials originating from waste for recycling, the machine consisting of a receiving hopper 2 equipped with a helix 3 which impels said materials towards a cylinder 4 which is against it at one of its end walls, the lateral surface 5 of said cylinder being perforated over its entire length, except for the sections 6 and 7 close to the end walls thereof, via which it rests freely on four pairs of wheels 8 and 9, the two pairs 8 on one side being actuated by a motor. The perforated lateral surface 5 of the cylinder 4 via which the chopped-up paper emerges is protected on the outside by a structure 10 under which there is a conveyor. The cylinder 4 is traversed by a shaft 11, with plates 12, actuated by a motor which, in the manner of a beater, chops up the paper and impels the plastic towards the exit end wall via the orifice 14, the rotary movement of said shaft 11 being counter to that of the cylinder 4. <IMAGE>
