PURPOSE:To simplify its sealing work and prevent it from short-circuiting during sealing work, by sticking a frame-shapedly formed thermal fusion type sealing material to either one of armouring metal plates, and putting a power element into the recessed portion of the material and then sticking the other armouring metal plate thereto. CONSTITUTION:Armouring metal plates each serve as a current collecting body, and a stainless steel plate of e.g., 0.015 to 0.08mm thick are used for each of them. For thermal fusion type material, an insulating material e.g., polyorephin resin is used; a frame-shaped piece of e.g., 2mm width is punched out of a sheet of the material formed by thermal press, etc., and about 200mum in thickness so that a frame-shaped sealing material is formed. The first process of forming a thin-type battery is then carried out by which the thermal fusion type frame-shaped insulating sealing material is thermally fused to either one of the armouring metal plates, and then the second by which the other armouring metal plate is thermally fused to the sealing material having contained a power element in its frame-shaped recessed portion. The sealing material may be formed in uniform thickness according to the above manufacturing process, whereby also the short circuit of the battery is simply prevented. |
