A flat space heater has an electrical heating wire or other resistance embedded in a plastic material layer and a metal component resting on that layer; the heating element itself is in a casing with space for air between an inlet and an outlet for the heated air. This element consists of a dark high-conductivity metal foil, anodized or coated, and a cured plastic mat which encapsulates the heating wire, and the whole element is flexible.
