PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material providing pressure-sensitive recording sheets having excellent shelf stability and heat-sensitive recording sheets having excellent sensitivity characteristics, having strong absorption in a far infrared range in a colored state by using a novel pentadiene-based compound. CONSTITUTION:The aimed recording material using one or more pentadienebased compounds shown by the formula [R<1>-R<4> are alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, halogenoalkyl, halogen, (lower alkyl-substituted) phenyl and R<1> and R<2> with bonded N and R<3> and R<4> with bonded N may form ring, respectively: R<5> and R<6> are H, halogen, lower alkyl or alkoxycarbonyl; R<7> is alkyl, halogen, alkyl, (alkoxy-substituted) phenyl or naphthyl (with the proviso that R<1>-R<4> are simultaneously lower alkyl, R<5> and R<6> are not lower alkyl at the 2-position)]. |
