TAPE CASSETTE DUST DOOR SPRING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING SAME

The door assembly comprises a pivot peg (40) for the tape cassette door, and a spring (56) having short and long legs (54,58) angled to each other. The pivot peg (40) has one fixed end and one rounded free end. The rounded free end has a wide slit (48) extending the full width of the free end and traversing approximately 60 deg. which leads to a narrower slit (50) extending towards the fixed end. The short leg of the spring is positioned within the narrower slit in the peg. while the second leg acts against the door to apply the spring torsion. A round recess (52) in the base of the narrower slit in the peg retains the short spring in position.
