PURPOSE:To eliminate noise in an idle state and wasteful power consumption by providing control means which does not have a print command input, turns a driver OFF under the condition of OFF of a mechanism, and considers the output of temperature detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When a printing operation is finished, a mechanism 21 feeds a printing operation end signal to a CPU 11. The CPU 11 holds 'H' of a fan OR signal S15a for a predetermined period Ta of time to drive a fan 40. The signal S15a is set to a low level under the conditions that there is no print command S50 from a host computer 50 and it is not during printing at a time t4 after a predetermined period T1 of time is elapsed. In case of a high temperature environment, temperature detecting means 60 detects the abnormal temperature rise in a power source 22 to feeds a 'H' detection signal S60 to the CPU11. The CPU11 sets the signal S15a to 'H' according to a control program in a ROM 12, starts a fan 40, and drives the fan 40 for a period T12 of time. |
