LIGHT PUMPING TYPE LASER

摘要

PURPOSE: To improve stability of a laser operation by providing a laser diode array generating optical pumping radiation with uniform strength extending over a specified band width and a laser material with a corresponding absorption band. CONSTITUTION: A laser diode array 10 with layer diodes 13 and 15 has a band width of about 3nm to about 15nm and generates optical pumping radiation with almost uniform distribution of strength ranging over the whole region of a bands width. A laser material 18 with a fixed absorption band corresponding to radiation of the laser diode array 10 receives radiation inside a prescribed band from the laser diode array 10. Heat sinks 12 and 14 hold laser diodes 13 and 15 at a fixed temperature. Light to be released by laser light generation of the laser material 18 goes through a nonlinear optical material 24 to reach an output coupler 26.
