PURPOSE: To make the analysis and evaluation of a complicated pattern possible by removing individual defect echo signals from the sum of echo signals systematically continuously. CONSTITUTION: A digital position signal and a digital echo signal are generated by moving an ultrasonic probe on a solid surface and outputting a short pulse, and the continuous values of the position signal and the echo are stored in a first electronic memory by a digital computing means. And ununiformity inside a cross section is displayed by a first video cross section image on storage data stored in a second matrix memory. And a digital mathematical model which simulates the shape, amplitude, and directional property of an acoustic pulse is built up, and evaluation is performed by leading the combination of the incident point of an acoustic beam stored in the first electronic memory and the direction of the center axis into this model continuously, and unnecessary echo pulse signals are deleted from the first electronic memory. And a process of forming a second video cross section image having inverted ununiformity from the remaining data, evaluating the picture element of a first ununiform image and filtering echo signals contributing an imperfect image is repeated. |
