Spiral conveyor driven by means of a vibrating drive. The known spiral conveyors which make possible indirect thermal treatment of the bulk materials have a chamber for guiding the heating medium, which chamber is separate but fixedly connected to the spiral conveyor. In the event of high temperature differences between the heat carrier medium and the conveyed material, stresses occur here which lead to an impairment of the service life of the conveyors. A spiral conveyor, which is connected in a frictionally engaged manner to a drive torsion bar and which is sealed in a gas-tight manner, is proposed as a pipe coil, the frictionally engaged connection between the drive torsion bar and the spiral conveyor including spring elements which permit movements due to the thermal expansion of the spiral conveyor without loss of the frictionally engaged connection.
