In order to improve thermodynamic and organic engine efficiency as regards the present engines, there is proposed a new type of crank mechanism - "Double Upside Down Crank Mechanism" - which has the following characteristics: piston motion in the neighbourhood of the top dead center is much lower than bottom dead center; the outside ram travels (expansion and intake stroke) under the same turn velocity occur in a time longer than inside ram travels (compression and exhaust strokes); during running there aren't closing forces that could push piston against cylinder wall. In virtue of these characteristics it is possible to improve combustion, to reduce heat exchange and to limit wear and tear that is due to the friction between piston and cylinder wall, averting the danger of seizing. |
